Maine Memorial had our first in a series of career speakers this morning at 4th and 5th grade morning program. We had two former Maine Memorial students speak about their careers: Ben Taylor, Director of Technology at ME and former Spanish teacher and Jen Kollar, Cosmetologist and salon owner. The kids were enthusiastic and asked lots of questions! We’re looking forward to our future speakers. Any former Maine Memorial students who would be interested in presenting should contact Jim Tokos at jtokos@me.stier.org
Second Grade students at MM recently finished their Narrative Writing unit. What better way to celebrate than sharing their writing with 2nd grade students from other classrooms. The students crafted small moment stories that told about a meaningful moment in their life. Students had a great time publishing their books and creating a classroom book for others to read.
During the first quarter, second graders at Maine Memorial worked on their small moment stories. They got to publish and share their stories with friends from another class!
This week, Mr. Tokos came into second grade classes at Maine Memorial to teach about properties and water and water conservation!
