We are excited to announce that MECSD received a grant that will help aid in the physical and mental health of our students. With the 500 Mile (Walk 500 Miles for Mental Health) grant we were able to purchase a bench for the blacktop at Maine Memorial, which allows kids who are injured a place to be near their friends. The grant money was also used to buy pedometers and oximeters. The kids have started a walking club with Ms. Battaglini during recess. They walk their way to the solar field and back and are tracking all of their steps and oxygen!
