Policy Statement

Class Rules:

  • Be respectful to yourself, others, and equipment.

  • Come prepared to class on time.

  • Be willing to participate and try new things.

  • Work together.

  • Be and think positive.

  • Act responsible and take responsibility for your actions.

  • Observe and obey all policies outlined in the student handbook.


Teacher’s Requirements:

  • To provide a safe learning environment for ALL students.

  • To be considerate, fair, and honest to ALL students.

  • To be prepared for class every day.

  • To return all assignments, tests, quizzes, notebooks, drawings, and projects within a reasonable period of time after students have handed them in for grading.


Assignment Policy:

  • All assignments that are take-home or done over a period of time must be turned in on the date and time specified by Mr. Beard.

  • Assignments turned in after the specified due date will be penalized 10% everyday past the due date—up to 3 days.

  • All assignments that are not turned in because of an excused absence must be turned in on the following school day.

  • All missed tests and quizzes must be made up within one cycle of school days during a study hall or before/after school. Otherwise, the grade will result in a zero. Make-ups must be pre-arranged with Mr. Beard prior to arrival.


Grading Policy:
The following are areas where students are evaluated:

  • Quizzes/Tests

  • Homework

  • Projects

  • Daily Grade (must be present at least 50% of the time to qualify)

  • Some quarters may have more grades/points than others. Due to the nature of the course, some activities may take longer for completion.
