Special Olympics

The Maine-Endwell Special Olympics team has been training and participating in area competitions for more than 10 years. The team practices weekly during six different sport seasons. They begin in the fall with soccer and bowling and transition through the winter with volleyball and basketball. Spring brings our athletes the opportunity to compete in swimming and track and field. Athletes compete in team and skills-based events according to their ability. They have had the good fortune to have athletes from other Maine-Endwell teams practice with them and share their skills. Several teachers have volunteered their time with the Special Olympics team as well. This year the team worked together to proudly bring home second place in the regional competition held on Saturday February 11. Our skills athlete accomplished a third-place finish. Way to go Spartans!
